ipVA's Andrew Watson will be presenting on IP best practice and evolving trends for a VC and C-level audience as part of an event organised by Go4Venture and hosted by Taylor Wessing on 25 June 2009. In his talk, Andrew will cover:

  • What is IP (and it's not just patents!)
  • Heat map of the various sectors which are +/- conducive to IP
  • IP – how and when to protect your IP
  • Patenting – how and how much?
  • Blocking patents (and the use of mapping tools) and freedom to operate opinions.

The event is also scheduled to feature a debate panel over just how important IP really is for businesses, a question we've raised and discusssed at several of our events and over at our blog, Tangible IP. Taylor Wessing will be discussing the highlights of their new resource, the Global IP Index and its relevance and what it has to say for businesses and investors.
