Dr. Luc J.R. Vandamme is a consultant with ipVA and specialises in chemistry and chemical engineering, including inorganic chemistry, polymer chemistry, specialty chemicals, general chemistry and drug delivery devices. Luc is a qualified patent attorney and has a PhD in Chemistry and Agricultural Industries.

Luc is the former Intellectual Property Manager for Europe and Asia for Dow Corning and was active in their Intellectual Property department for over 25 years. At Dow Corning, he was responsible for all aspects of IP arising within Europe, including drafting and prosecuting patents, internal IP education and training, and technology transfer. Luc also counselled top management in the setting up and implementation of the IP strategy for the whole of Asia, with particular emphasis on the emerging markets. Luc's combined areas of responsibility together covered 40% of the group's $3 billion in annual turnover. While at Dow Corning, he managed the global trademark portfolio and trademark strategy across the entire company.

Luc speaks fluent Dutch, English and French and has a good working knowledge of German.
