Peter Bawden is a consultant with ipVA and specialises in international patent strategy and in the fields of chemistry, polymers, and formulation chemistry.  Peter is a Chartered Patent Attorney and a European Patent Attorney and started his career in the UK and Belgium with ICI and then worked 25 years with Exxon Chemical Company where he managed their global Intellectual Property activities. 

Peter specialises in invention identification and the development of Intellectual Property of real value and securing value from the assets through license negotiation or enforcement.  He provides education and training on the strategic and commercial aspects of Intellectual Property.  He also has extensive experience of handling concerns around third party assets and other contentious patent issues through global litigation and advocacy in Oppositions and Appeals at the European Patent Office.
